This article explains the benefits of video advertising for your business and how video advertising is the current mass marketing leader.
If a single picture is worth 1000 words just imagine what you can say with a video.
Advertising is the promotion of a company's products and services to generate sales of said products and services.
It is also used to build and establish a brand identity and to communicate product changes and to introduce new products and services to both potential and existing customers.
Advertising is an essential aspect of the corporate world and because of that companies allocate a substantial sum of money towards their advertising budget.
Over recent years, video advertising has become the most popular marketing tool for business's and for good reason.
What's so great about video?
You find yourself in the market for some advertising and there's so much to choose from.
If you have the budget, you can also consider advertising in films with other brands such as Coca Cola and Apple and finally, celebrity advertising which is favoured primarily by cosmetics companies, alcohol breweries and fragrance developers.
Some of the most amusing celebrity advertisements include Brad Pitts' latest appearance in the Chanel No 5 adverts and Usher's personalised MasterCard.
Obviously advertising can be extremely expensive and although all of the above methods have been tried and tested with varied results promotional business videos have grown in popularity over the years and has become one of the most recommended forms of advertising for increasing website traffic, engaging potential clients and generating new sales.
With a promotional business video you can get your message across to your audience in a much faster and more engaging way. People are always searching for videos before they buy.
YouTube is full of How-To's, Product Reviews and other engaging videos that make companies and products stand out from the crowd.
Videos are a great way of promoting your brand and business image and they make a HUGE impression on potential clients and visitors to your website, showroom or promotional event.
In October 2006 Google bought YouTube for £883 million and they now offer Google Adwords for video to further promote your promotional videos and in-turn your website.
What Video Should I Choose?
The possibilities with videos are endless. You can have a long, explanatory video, a short (fast paced) video, product/service reviews, storyboarded company promotional videos and whiteboard animation videos (to name just a few).
As an example take a look at the new Admin Angels UK video at the start of this article. We opted for a 40 second whiteboard animation with some really catchy background music, funky graphics and a great pace.
Below are two very different business promotional videos. As you can see one is almost 3 minutes long and is a very descriptive business promotional video whereas the second video is only around a minute long and focuses solely on one product.
Put Your Business in the Spotlight!
There are hundreds of thousands of video production companies around the world although less than half are likely to specialise in business promotion videos.
The costs in creating and producing a video can be extremely high for example, I was once quoted a sum of around £3,000 for a 1 minutes business promo video from a 'yellow' telephone directory company and approximately £4,000 for a promo video from my local radio station.
However, it's not all doom and gloom. The company that produced the above two videos only charged £50 per video and we bought our new whiteboard animation video for just £16 from Vanessa, who is a freelance graphic designer and video editor. Her service was amazing. We simply provided her with a script of how we wanted our video and she did the rest adding all of the images from her catalogue. She did an absolutely fantastic job and you can take a look at some of her work and contact her for a quote by following this link.
My advice to you is to shop around and most importantly WATCH, WATCH, WATCH! Make sure you check out the examples that production companies or other freelance video editors have produced to ensure that you're happy with the quality and that the style of filmmaking suits your needs.
My Top Tip!
One last thing...
If you find a company or freelancer that you really like but you've found a cheaper price elsewhere ASK! A lot of companies and freelancers will have a Price Match Guarantee and even if they doubt - it's always worth asking to see if you can get a great deal.
