How to utilise reviews to market small business
​Reviews and testimonials are valuable and crucial to the success of any small business.
 
Each review acts as a word of mouth referral about your business, and potential customers will actively seek out reviews from previous customers to ensure that they’ll be getting a good product/service.

Did you know that simply having readily available reviews from past customers can build a potential customer’s trust and lead to increased sales?

The key thing to remember is that your reviews should be everywhere, and there’s no limit to how and where you can use customer reviews to market your business.

Try these top tips to make the most of your small business reviews: 
  • ​Add reviews to your website – Your website should include a dedicated page for reviews so that potential customers can navigate to this page and easily find out what people are saying about your business. The best way to display reviews is in date order, newest first. Remember to also include snippets of reviews on each page of your website, just one great review on each page that (if clicked on) links back to your primary reviews page can help to reinforce the quality that you can provide to potential customers.

  • Utilise the power of social – Use a graphics tools like Canva or Visme.co to create simple yet attractive graphics that you can post to your social media accounts. Include an image that reflects your brand and paste in your review. Then start sharing to spread the word about how good you really are!

  • Ask for reviews – Don’t forget to ask for reviews on social media. Customers can leave reviews on your Facebook page, they can endorse you on LinkedIn and they can @mention you on Twitter. Ask for reviews and each time you receive one, share it across your platforms and add it to your website!

  • Use product/service reviews to launch a sale ­– If you’re about to launch a sale and plan to advertise one or a few specific products/services featured in the sale, use reviews that specifically mention or relate to these products and services. Build your marketing campaign around these reviews and allow the words of your existing or past customers to sell for you!
 
  •  Use review power to boost ads – Whether your advertising in print or online, reviews can make all the difference. Choose your reviews carefully, they need to be concise whilst also making it clear what you do and how your customers will benefit.

 You should always keep a record of every review/testimonial you receive so that you can go back and recycle them into new content.
