Trade Show Tips to Make You Stand Out

26/3/2018

Trade Show
If you’re a business owner looking to get some exposure, a trade show can really help you stand out. Not only will you raise awareness of your brand, you will also be able to meet potential clients and investors. The main challenge you are likely to face at a trade show is competition from other businesses that are also looking to get noticed, so here are five trade show tips that will be sure to make your business stand out among the rest:

Have Standout Equipment
You should remember that everything that you bring to a trade show is a reflection of your business, so you need to make sure you invest in good equipment, or better yet, hire equipment. By hiring, not only will you save money, you’ll also have access to the latest, top-of-the-range equipment which means you’ll run a much lower risk of technology failure on the day. This can range from projectors and screens, to the marketing collateral you hand out. By doing this, your business will appear organised and professional from the outset, and ultimately this will make it more appealing for clients and investors.

Build Up Promotion
A great way to gather momentum and peak the interest of clients is to start promoting your business before the trade show takes place. You can get in touch with trade publications, bloggers and experts in your industry in the months leading up to the trade show to create a sense of anticipation about your brand. If you start generating buzz on social media before you get there, then you are more likely to get higher engagement levels from people who have already heard of you.

Create Interactivity
Most businesses come to trade shows and simply do giveaways of items emblazoned with their logos, but this isn’t an effective way to resonate with an audience. In fact, most people will probably just take the free items and forget about your brand. If you want to stand out, then come up with a game or a contest which will give people more incentive to engage with your brand. And if you really want to push the boat out, you could incorporate technology such as VR or develop an app for people to interact with when they approach your stall.

Use Video
Video marketing is becoming one of the best ways to promote products and services. A well-made video will look impressive and can set you apart from other businesses. Having a video playing on a big screen will not only help you to explain what your business is all about, but when you or your associates are busy talking to prospective clients, it will help to draw more people in and keep them engaged until you are free to talk to them.

Be Energetic
At corporate trade shows, especially ones that go on for several days, energy can dwindle which can leave people feeling rather uninspired. Stand out from the competition by injecting some life into your stand, and bring as much energy to it as possible. This may be tiring, but it will be worth it as more people will be attracted to your stall, and people will associate your business with positivity.

Kayleigh is quite simply one of the most efficient VAs I have ever worked with. Whatever I ask for is delivered without fuss, with appropriate reminders, and often with a good suggestion proffed too. She has brought clarity and consistency to some complex newsletter and events tasks I had been struggling with. She works very effectively with others too. I have reason to be grateful to Kayleigh every week and so happy she is part of our team.
